NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series

23rd Annual NHRA Northwest Nationals

Pacific Raceway; Kent, Wash.

Post-Event Wrap-Up

Top Fuel – Larry Dixon

Qualifying:  Larry Dixon was the No. 2 qualifier at Seattle. During the first qualifying session on Saturday, Dixon recorded a 3.896-second pass at 305.42 mph. Dixon has qualified in the top three at 13 of the 14 races so far this season.

Eliminations: Dixon defeated Terry Haddock before losing to Shawn Langdon in the second round of eliminations.

Unofficial Point Standings: Dixon will remain No. 1 in the NHRA Full Throttle Top Fuel point standings.  He leads second place Cory McClenathan by 172 points.

Dixon on Seattle: “Our Al-Anabi team has had a lot of weeks and a lot of races that we’ve been on the winning side of close races, but today we weren’t. We were on the losing side of a close drag race.  We’ll take our licks and go to Sonoma next week and try to do better. On the positive side of things, even though we went out in the second round, we only lost four points off our lead so it ends up being a positive weekend for Al-Anabi Racing.

Funny Car – Del Worsham

Qualifying:    Del Worsham was the No. 2 qualifier at the NHRA Northwest Nationals.  Worsham’s 4.202-second pass at 293.54 mph occurred in the first round of qualifying on Saturday.

Eliminations: Worsham defeated Brian Thiel before losing to Matt Hagan in the second round of eliminations.

Unofficial Point Standings: Worsham will remain in ninth place in the NHRA Full Throttle Funny Car point standings.  He trails eighth place Bob Tasca by 26 points and leads 10th place Tony Pedregon by 134 points.

Worsham on Seattle: “Seattle was another solid outing for the Al-Anabi Toyota. We lost second round, but we made great runs all weekend.  We lost a cylinder in the second round and lost the race, but it’s just a matter of time before we get this thing back into the winner’s circle.  Our Al-Anabi Toyota is a fast race car now; we still have some fine tuning to do, but we are all happy with the car.”

Next Race: The Al-Anabi Racing team will be back in action July 16-18 at the Fram-Autolite NHRA Nationals in Sonoma, Calif. For additional information, please visit www.nhra.com.
